## Example 1: Pounds to Newtons

**The Question:** Did you know this? You can ask Google lots of things in the search field. Let's practice. 

Remember that my favorite airplane is the AIRBUS 330-300, long-haul aircraft:

This airplane uses either two Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, or Rolls-Royce jet engines each with an average thrust of about 300,000 N (300 kN). 

> "Thrust" is the aviation word for "force."

How many *pounds* of thrust is that per engine? Type into the search engine's (haha..."engine" See what I did there?):

So, 300,000 N is the same as 67,442 pounds.
